Nice trip to the physio. Some good news. Yes he has given me an assurance.... that the pain I am currently feeling in both arches of my feet won't get any worse before New York if I see him every week between now and then. Comforting. The current agony won't get any more painful! Think sitting with a bag of frozen peas on my feet every night could be a cheaper option?! But seriously my feet do feel better for a really good pummelling and I am allowed to start running again properly. So come October 1st, I am officially off the vino and into a month of pasta. I am off to a dinner party now so with 2 days to go before abstinence kicks in, I am sure going to enjoy myself!

Well this keeping fit without being on my feet is quite tiresome...however a lovely personal trainer at the gym suggested I use the static bike (pedalling doesn't hurt!) to keep the old cardio going. She even leant me her headphones and as I set the machine for 2 hours she said "You'll die of boredom unless you have something to listen to!" (the headphones were indeed a lifesaver). Cycling and not actually getting anywhere isn't really my thing, but at least it relieved the guilt of not exercising as the "days to go" hit less than 35....back in physio tonight (note to self to wear something more suitable than the last time!!)

A bittersweet start to my blog. I have a proper sports injury! Though gutted to have hit this set back, I would never in a million years have thought to find myself in this situation. Possibly some (rather painful) credibilty at last?! I have had to visit a (proper) sports physio and apparently I have been overdoing it (I could have told him that!) I have been told to rest my feet for a week, but by day 5 I was feeling the strain of not running and I went out for a 6 mile run this morning. And disappointing it was too. Not the beautiful view down by the River Thames or the camaraderie of the other runners (both as amazing as ever) but rather the pain in my feet and left knee - and the fact I am running slower than ever. What to do with less than 40 days to go till New York???
