To Coincide with the opening of Anthropologie on the Kings Road we thought we would do something special in our 125 Kings Road Location. We are currently featuring “live” windows with Yogis practicing Yoga throughout the day. The awe inspiring poses that these inspirational women were able to perform and hold are truly amazing. They drew crowds outside of the boutique throughout the day today. Looking forward to the continued success of the event on Friday and Saturday. If you are in the neighbourhood please stop by and have a peak.

Our blog post this week has to be dedicated to Emma, our star runner. After the success of her NY marathon debut it wasn't long before ET was seeking another challenge. We stumbled across the kilomathon. 26.2km (16 miles) seemed like a challenge but perhaps a nicer length run.
We all gaily signed up but various ailments and reasons saw all of us fall by the wayside...except for Emma. She ploughed through ice and mud as she clocked the miles on various towpaths on the Thames. Then finally the date was here and mothering Sunday saw ET up in Nottingham and looking great and ready to run.
It was a great race...even if there was a small delay in getting to the start pen on time...and Emma crossed the finish line in 3hours. We are all so proud of you Emma, Well done on another great success!

Finally, I can breathe a sigh of relief! The Summer 2010 catalogues have at last gone to the printer. You will notice a few changes this season, in particular to our brand pages, which now go into a lot more depth about our great in store initiatives and online community. Our High Summer book has also evolved. As well as the usual carefully edited collection from our main book, High Summer includes brand new ranges for the height of the season. From neon brights to the beautiful Eastern Spa, this definitely marks the start of summer - now all we need is the sunshine!

It is all about sporting prowess...and we have an abundance of that within our teams at Sweaty Betty. A great example of this was the Bath Half which took place last weekend.
Several Betties were chomping at the bit to participate....some for the first time, and others, well, for the first time in a while, but many were out there running just because it is something they love to do. It was a beautiful day by all reports and a big day in the sporting calendar for our west country shops! There was a buzz in the air for days before and running kit was selling like crazy! A huge congratulations goes out to all the girls who donned their Sweaty Betty running kit and finished the race!
Maybe my next club attendance will be the ever expanding Bristol running club (many of whom participated in the Bath Half!)? I think I may have to join the beginners session though, as by all accounts these girls are of a pretty good!
Wish me luck and sign me up for next years Bath half...

Wow what a hectic week in the SB buying department with fitting AW10 styles, negotiating prices with suppliers from all over the world and chasing AW10 look book samples. In the midst of everything I managed to sneak out and go to our Soho store to see how things were going, and this is where I first laid eyes on it... the Triathlon Suit. Love at first sight!

Now you may think it is a bit strange that I haven’t seen it before given I am buying the beachwear range, but I only joined SB recently and the previous Buyer had signed this style off beforehand.
Anyway back to the Triathlon Suit. I have never done a Triathlon before. Swimming is not one of my strengths. However when seeing the Triathlon Suit I actually for a moment considered joining Tamara at the Shock Absorber Women’s Triathlon this summer! It is absolutely gorgeous with a HUGE logo at the back and figure shaping stitching at front. LOVE IT!!
Our soho betty agreed with me. She seriously thought about wearing it for the London Marathon. Actually thinking about it, maybe I should give the Triathlon a go...

This week we are all really excited about the new acclaimed adidas by Stella McCartney spring collection, now available exclusively online and in our Selfridge’s concession, Hampstead, Kensington Church Street and Soho boutique.

This beautiful collection combines cutting edge adidas technologies with Stella’s unique handwriting and attention to detail. I’ve already placed my order - great gear really do equal great motivation. I’m planning to put them to test at our weekly office yoga session!

It's a well known fact that by February and March most of us mere mortals have fallen off the fitness wagon. We begin to see and feel the effects of all the hard work we put in at the gym over January and then what do we do?.....we reach for a Cadbury cream egg and it's all over!!!!
This year I have decided (with a little help from my team!) to go the opposite way. I've ditched the cream eggs and instead kick start my week with a little Power Yoga. It is all about participation and practicing what we preach. And boy does it feel good!
I have set myself a task over the next few weeks to participate in all of my shops clubs. Each week across the 9 stores that I manage there are almost 20 clubs to attend....for FREE!!! Nordic walking, running, Pilates, yoga, cardio circuits, you name it, I am going to do it! The motivation you may ask? A combination of the feel good factor that exercise generates, but also to prepare for some of the beautiful new swimwear collections that are arriving in store over the next few weeks. First up, 80's Lifeguard is touching down this week. We are leaving the winter behind and embracing the lead up to spring/summer!
